going to put with. I then emailed him and told him that I have had enough of this, was intending to take legal action against the council and demanded that he visit my flat with a member of the noise team so I can get third party verification of just how bad the noise was. He instead snuck out behind my back and had the lift noise fixed within a couple of hours, although this was only temporary, as it was only a matter of time before the lift noises returned again. I emailed him several times asking why he did that, and also stated that I wanted to make a complaint about his behaviour, which were all ignored. However that lift repair was a one off, because with regards to the current noise disturbances, he has known about them for over 2 years now, and the emails I sent him on the subject were ignored. I met him again at the Stratford local area forum in June last year when he came to our table to discuss any concerns we had and challenged on why he ignored my emails and went behind my back, to which is told me a pack of lies by blatantly denying he had done any of this, then proceeded to cut me off and blank me by immediately starting conversations with other tenants sitting at our table.

The biggest problem within Newham's housing department is Jon Hillier, as he is essentially in charge of the maintenance and repair department which is on its knees, and you can report faults and repairs until you are blue in the face yet nothing gets done. When I spoke the assistant director of housing, Donna Morelli at that very same meeting, and told her about his conduct, she told me in no uncertain terms that any bad behaviour from Mr Hillier would be dealt with sternly, but suffice to say, it was all just talk as she did nothing about him, and he still remains in his job to this day.
In view of the fact that Jon Hillier is essentially the boss of the head of lifts, Geoff Williams, who has been at the heart of the complaint I had with regards to the horrendous noise disturbances leaking into my flat, he was naturally the best person to refer this matter to, and after about 10 years of constant complaining about these issues, I finally received an unannounced visit from him to my flat, which resulted in him acknowledging that there was indeed some noise coming from the lift shafts, but deemed it insufficient to warrant any work done on it. He then had the barefaced audacity to tell me that as a result of living next to the lift shafts, I should be expected to put up with some noise from the lifts, which if that was the case, should have been explained to me before I accepted the flat and clearly stated in my tenancy agreement.

However, the noise started to get progressively worse to the point where the lifts sounded like a train going past every time they were in use which I certainly wasn't
