Housing Issues

Lift Noise Disturbances

The lifts within Newham council's blocks are maintained by a company called Griffin Elevators who started doing so in 2007, and since that day, there have been endless problems with noise disturbances coming from the lift shafts whilst the lifts are in use that have been making myself and everyone else whose flats are located next to them a living hell.  The head of lifts, Geoff Williams, is an insufferable, narcissistic prick, who will not take responsibility for the problem and instead constantly gaslights everyone who complains into believing that the problem either doesn't exist, or that the noise is coming from somewhere else.  We had no problems with any lift noise before Griffin Elevators took over the lift contract, and I have it on good authority that this is a problem with residential blocks all over Newham.

We've had a whole repertoire of noises over the years including screeching, scraping, clacking and ticking noises that have disturbed residents during the day and kept them awake at night. There was even one occasion when the noise was so bad that it literally sounded like a train was going past every time the lifts were in use. I've probably complained about these issues well in excess of a thousand times, and whenever the concierge reports this issue to Griffin, they send out a couple of brainless goons who simply take one look at the lifts, shrug their shoulders and them walk off.  It is as a result of my sheer exasperation with trying to get this resolved that is the sole reason why I started this website. You can read the full story of what I have had to put up with here, you can read all about Griffin Elevators here, and you can read all about what an insufferable tosser the head of lifts Geoff Williams is here.  If you live in a property located next to the lift shafts and have suffered from similar problems, please email me at newhamhousingexposed@outlook.com.
